UCSC Juggling Newsletter (May 18, 2010)

Hey all you Circus Slugs! There will be no meeting this Wednesday as I need to recover from the juggling festival.  We will still be having a meeting on Friday from 3-6 pm at East Field, unless it rains. The juggling festival was a huge success; you can find a review of it at http://frogfighters.com/slugjugglers/festival/review.html

We have two performances coming up next week. One on the 25th for UCSC’s Student Recognition Ceremony which we can not pass up because the club will be getting PAID. We need at least 4 participants for a 15-20 minute performance, and they want it to be interactive with the crowd; we need to start collaborating on this immediately. Our other performance for next week on the 27th for UCSC’s Slugs on Stage for the Invisible Children fundraiser; we will have 10 minutes on stage and can probably do the same thing we do for the Student Recognition.  Go on our forums to discuss these upcoming events.

-----Upcoming Club Events-----

-UCSC Relay For Life Cancer Walk, Fire Show (May 22nd, UCSC East Field)

Our club has been asked to do a fire/light show for the Relay For Life cancer walk. We will be performing on the East Field Volleyball Courts if anyone is interested. You should be experienced to do fire, but if you have glow in the dark or LED gear that will be good as well.

-UCSC Student Recognition Ceremony, Circus Show (May 25th 7-8pm, College 9/10 multipurpose room):

We have been asked to do a 15-20 minute interactive circus show for this event. The club will be getting paid for this, so we SHOULD not pass up this event. We need at least 4 members to do the event. http://s1.zetaboards.com/ucscjuggling/topic/3345910/1/

-UCSC Slugs on Stage, Hosted by the Invisible Children Club (May 27th 8-10pm, College 9/10 Multipurpose room): We have been asked to do a short show for the Slugs on Stage Talent Show. I did this event last year, and it was a ton of fun, but it would be cool if we could do something as a group this year.
